Mechanical Fitter - Thames Water Projects
Permanent Position - £48,000 + Package
Location: Thames Water Sites (Various)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a permanent basis, delivering mechanical installation, maintenance and refurbishment work across Thames Water industrial sites. This is an excellent long‑term opportunity to work on essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a stable, growing framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical installation, maintenance and overhaul on pumps, valves, pipework, motors and rotating machinery
- Work on clean water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations, and associated industrial assets
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, P&IDs and specifications
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
- Ensure compliance with Thames Water site procedures, RAMS and safety standards
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers and subcontractors to deliver works safely and efficiently
- Complete all required documentation to a high standard
Requirements
- CSCS card
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter on industrial projects (water industry experience highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves, mechanical assemblies and pipework systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple live sites
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance
