Job description
Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Aberdare site
Shift Pattern: Continuous (4x4)
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot plant machinery and equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Contribution to Efficiency: Contribute to machine efficiency and development programs using existing maintenance programs and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies such as 5-why analysis.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and implement action plans to prevent recurring faults.
- Risk Assessment: Complete risk assessments and equipment isolation procedures.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a maintenance technician in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Education: Ideally, completed a recognized apprenticeship in a suitable discipline and educated to at least HNC level.
- Skills: Mechanical bias with experience in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. Experience in fault finding and repairs in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, servicing and repair of gearboxes, and other large mechanical equipment. Proficient in welding, fabrication, and use of workshop equipment including lathe, milling machine, and pillar drill. Good understanding of fault finding on PLCs including GEM80, Allen Bradley, or Siemens S7.
