Job description
A world leading aircraft equipment manufacturer are seeking a NDT Technician to join their business critical team. Key Responsibilities:
- Processing production components through the NDT department, performing Magnetic Flaw detect, Penetrant Flaw Detection, and Acid Etch Inspection of steel parts.
- Handling items under investigation from both "in service" and "test" areas as required by the Engineering Materials Laboratory and Test Engineering.
- Potentially performing additional disciplines such as Acid Etch Inspection of Titanium alloys and Barkhausen Noise Inspection.
- Liaising with internal customers to assist with corrective action activities for nonconformances.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Backing the department during NADCAP audits.
- Being responsible for various calibrations within the NDT department.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in NDT, specifically with qualifications in Magnetic Flaw detect, Penetrant Flaw Detection, and Acid Etch Inspection.
- Ideally served an engineering apprenticeship, qualified to at least ONC/HNC in mechanical/production engineering.
- Preferable to hold or have held Level 2 NDT qualifications within the last twelve months in schemes such as EN4179, NAS410, ASNT, or PCN.
- Knowledge of international NDT specifications and working practices.
- Strong organisational awareness and proactive approach.
- Effective teamwork capabilities and flexibility to work shifts as required.
