Job description
Leading independent cost and project management consultancy are looking to add Quantity Surveying talent their London based team.
If you are a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor who would enjoy working for an employee focused business who are renowned for their entrepreneurial flare, then please apply!
These positions offer the chance to work on significant projects within the energy, rail (High Speed, Mainline & Metro) and aviation markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project budgets, preparing and presenting detailed cost reports, cashflow forecasts, and financial analysis to the Client
- Manage post-contract change control, including compensation events and claims (preferably NEC 3 & 4)
- Undertake assessment of works completed for application for payments
- Negotiate and prepare final accounts
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects, developing strategies to mitigate and manage identified risks
- Provide proactive advice to project teams on risk-related issues to avoid disputes and delays
- Liaise with procurement teams where appropriate for project delivery in accordance with procurement timelines
- Proficient understanding of core procurement and contract options (e.g., NEC 3/4)
- Ability to take market soundings, establish supplier bidding potential, conduct surveys, report their results, and develop inputs into procurement strategy
- Strong knowledge and experience undertaking compliant procurement events under Public Procurement Regulations (PCR 2015/UCR 2016)
- Knowledge of new Procurement Act 2023 regulations
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualified
- Experience working in infrastructure sectors (rail, highways, aviation, water, energy)
- MRICS preferred but not essential; support will be provided for professional qualification training
- Pre and post contract experience
- Experience of working under construction contract terms and conditions, preferably NEC or similar
