Our client, a leading organisation in the utilities sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join their team in Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all commercial aspects of tenders - from cost modelling and risk review to board approvals.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that support profitable growth and operational agility.
- Support project and contract delivery by tracking performance, maximising margins, and issuing key contractual notices.
- Own the commercial forecasting process - working with stakeholders to report on revenue, costs, and cashflow.
- Manage working capital by driving timely invoicing, monitoring WIP, and supporting cashflow targets.
- Be a trusted business partner - managing subcontractors, leading customer negotiations, and guiding teams on commercial best practice.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role, ideally within a multi-divisional organisation.
- Understanding of the differences between cashflow and revenue.
- Practical ideas for improving cashflow and revenue.
- Up-to-date knowledge of contractual law and commercial practices is desirable.
- Commercially astute, process-driven, and ready to make a real impact.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of commercial activities.
- Experience in the water sector would be advantageous but not essential.
