Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is currently seeking a proactive and skilled Civil Engineer to join their multidisciplinary water design team. This permanent role is instrumental in supporting the agile delivery of engineering services across all project stages, from concept through to construction.
The successful individual will be responsible for leading small projects, developing and reviewing civil design deliverables, and ensuring compliance with relevant UK design standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment across global teams, including the UK, to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Lead small projects and contribute to the efficient delivery of projects to meet programme and budget, complying with business management governance.
- Produce and review design deliverables, including engineering design calculations, drawings, and report writing for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
- Practice and contribute to the quality and safe design of technical solutions for projects.
- Deliver technical solutions to clients and other design engineers, and participate in collaborative design discussions, technical workshops, and safety reviews
- Engage with clients and construction teams throughout project delivery and bidding stages.
- Assess existing site infrastructure to develop and deliver mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment processes and pumping systems.
- Provide support to ensure the project team complies with CDM duties, including the production of design risk assessments.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and Chartered or working towards Chartered status
- Hands-on experience in design, design-&-build, project, and bid delivery in the UK water and/or wastewater engineering sector.
- Strong technical background in the water sector, including knowledge of WIMES, relevant UK codes, and asset standards for water and/or wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets.
- Highly motivated and organised, with a strong desire to manage and contribute to technical excellence within project teams.
- Experience in working with contractors to successfully implement engineering solutions in the Design & Build environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible approach to work types and locations for project assignments, including site or client office visits for meetings, if required.
