Account Manager - Smart Metering (Product)
£50,000 - £75,000 + up to 20% bonus | UK National | Remote working available
We are working with a global smart metering and energy technology manufacturer to recruit an experienced Account Manager to manage and grow strategic relationships across the UK energy market.
This is a high-profile, commercially focused role working with energy suppliers, Meter Asset Providers (MAPs), and key industry partners, where you will take ownership of senior relationships, revenue delivery, forecasting, and long-term account growth.
You will act as the primary commercial interface between customers and the business, ensuring delivery, service, product availability, and commercial performance are aligned to agreed account plans.
The Role
As Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic account plans that drive revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction across a portfolio of major energy clients.
You will:
- Own and develop senior-level relationships with energy companies and MAPs
- Lead all commercial activity across your accounts, from forecasting and pricing to RFPs and contract negotiations
- Manage revenue, pipeline, and forecasting against budget
- Coordinate closely with operations, supply chain, technical, finance, and legal teams to ensure customer commitments are met
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, providing market insight and competitor intelligence
- Manage and resolve commercial, delivery, and service escalations
- Represent the business across the wider UK energy and smart metering ecosystem
This is a role for someone who enjoys working at a strategic, relationship-driven level while still owning the commercial and operational outcomes of their accounts.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience in Account Management, Key Account Management, or Commercial Sales within energy, utilities, smart metering, manufacturing, or regulated environments
- A track record of managing strategic customer relationships and delivering against revenue or growth targets
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and leading complex commercial discussions
- Experience with RFPs, tenders, contracts, or negotiations
- Strong planning, forecasting, and pipeline management skills
- The ability to influence internally and externally to get things done
You don't need to be a metering expert - but experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, or product-led B2B sales will be highly advantageous.
