Our client, a leading company in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Design Engineer or Junior Design Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your passion for Mechanical Design to the design and development of innovative fuel cell products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering on-time designs and documentation detailing parts and assemblies
- Ensuring manufacturability against a set of customer requirements
- Incorporating engineering best practices, including DfX principles, into the product development lifecycle
- Contributing towards long-term mechanical design strategy to standardise, simplify and modularise products
- Working as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with technical and non-technical colleagues
Job Requirements:
- Experience in product development with a commercial mindset
- Ability to work with a flexible and solutions-focused approach in an agile and fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Holding a BEng, BSc, or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or an appropriate non-degree qualification with industrial experience
- Hands-on experience with structured design process methodologies
- Demonstrated application of DfX principles, including Design for Manufacture (DfM)
- Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD packages, preferably SolidWorks
- Strong skills in component modelling, assembly creation, and drafting engineering drawings
- Knowledge of FMEA application
