Our client, a prominent organisation in the highways sector, is currently seeking a skilled Highway Inspector to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves conducting rigorous safety inspections within the clients road network and ensuring compliance with inspection schedules and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting highways safety inspections as detailed in the Inspection Schedule
- Performing both walked and driven inspections independently and with others
- Assessing and responding to stakeholder enquiries related to highways
- Ensuring inspection processes and procedures align with service and legal standards
- Recording and uploading inspection and photographic files to the asset management system
- Identifying issues of concern to residents and stakeholders in inspection areas
- Reporting network issues not covered by the inspection regime for overall network betterment
- Providing information to Local Highways Officers on highway conditions and improvements
- Working closely with the operations team to ensure timely and standardised defect repairs
- Preparing statements and documentation and giving evidence in court if necessary
- Supporting insurance claim defences with relevant evidence
- Participating in Performance and Development Reviews
- Delivering elements of the maintenance contract as defined by the Asset Manager
- Ensuring all related service performance indicators and contractual obligations are met
- Helping to deliver business plan objectives
Job Requirements:
- Possession of a full UK driving licence
- Lantra Highways Safety Inspector qualification
- Experience using Confirm software
- Competent IT skills with adaptability to various software and hardware
- Experience in highway maintenance and/or with an asset management system
