Our client, a major player in the nuclear sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Authorised Person (AP) for a contract position. This role involves managing and coordinating electrical safety in compliance with approved project procedures, nuclear licence conditions, and quality management systems. This position is crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of electrical operations within a high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate electrical safety following approved project procedures.
- Support the safe execution of works in line with the Project Completion Schedule.
- Maintain strong working relationships with contractors, the client, and associated personnel.
- Oversee guidance and management of subcontractors and vendors providing M&E services.
- Audit contractors' Authorised Persons (AP), conduct onsite inspections, and ensure documentation and tests are in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate cross-boundary isolations and energisations of plant and equipment safely.
- Assist in the management of the M&E Permit Office to control 'live' activities on site.
- Ensure the project's transition from construction through commissioning and start-up is smooth and meets both company and client requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in electrical safety management within the nuclear sector.
- Thorough understanding of nuclear licence conditions and quality management systems.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery processes and procedures related to electrical safety.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for managing internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in reviewing and approving Safe Systems of Work and Initial Energisation Requests.
- Experience in training and auditing Authorised Persons (E).
- Ability to manage the safe execution of electrical works in a high-stakes environment.
