Our client, a leading railway infrastructure contractor, is currently seeking an experienced P-Way Engineer for a permanent role. This position is ideally suited to an engineer with a strong background in Switches & Crossings (S&C) and plain line track renewals, who is comfortable supporting both the planning and delivery of works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing engineering support for plain line and complex S&C renewals
- Acting as a Track Engineer on multi-discipline railway construction projects
- Producing, reviewing, and managing Work Package Plans (WPP), Task Briefings (TBs), and engineering documentation and technical reports
- Supporting weekend renewal works on site during possessions
- Managing CRT processes, including creation, submission, and close-out of forms
- Supporting track handbacks and possession activities
- Liaising with project management, delivery teams, and other disciplines
- Ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards and safety procedures
- Supporting the AMP process, including creation and management of H&S files
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a Track Engineer on multi-discipline railway construction projects
- Proven experience working on track renewals, including plain line and complicated S&C layouts
- Level 3 Stressing competency
- 3D surveying competence
- Plain line and S&C tamping competence
- Track Handback competency (Level 2 minimum preferred)
- Experience writing WPPs and TBs
- Experience in CRT management, including form creation and submission
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of the AMP procedure, including H&S file production
- Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and procedures
- Ability to work mid-week in an office environment and attend weekend site works
