Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Highways Site Engineer to support a highways renovation scheme in Bath. This is a 7 month contract. The role will focus on setting out and overseeing civil engineering works, including road construction and drainage activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for highways and civil engineering works
- Supporting road construction and drainage installations
- Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Using GPS and Total Station equipment for accurate surveying and setting out
- Producing and updating drawings using AutoCAD
- Assisting with site records, inspections, and basic reporting
- Working closely with site management and subcontractors
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or civil engineering projects
- Strong setting out skills
- Competent with GPS, Total Station, and AutoCAD
- Basic IT skills (site records, emails, reporting)
- Valid CSCS card
- Full UK Driving Licence
