A Service Support Engineer role, providing operational support for security and monitoring systems across Heathrow Airport. The role supports critical infrastructure as part of long-term service and upgrade contracts (including a 5‑year Genetec support agreement).

  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Hours: 37.5 per week - days & nights
  • Pay Rate: £36-£39 per hour (depending on experience)
  • On Payroll: Yes
  • Expenses: Not eligible
  • Notice Period: 1 week (both sides)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line and on-site/remote support for CCTV, ANPR, radar, body-worn cameras, sensors, intercoms, and related systems
  • Perform preventative, planned, and corrective maintenance on hardware and software
  • Install CCTV and ANPR equipment (day and night shifts)
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota to meet SLAs
  • Produce reports, RAMS, permits, and support documentation
  • Coordinate service and project activities with internal teams and Heathrow stakeholders
  • Attend progress meetings and hand over documentation after installations

Required Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience with CCTV VMS systems
  • Hands-on experience with CCTV, ANPR, radar systems, and field installations
  • IT security systems and networking knowledge
  • Experience in live/operational environments
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with LAN, wireless, fibre/cabling, and enterprise telecoms advantageous
  • Competent with MS Word and Excel

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in IT, networking, or engineering
  • Educated to C&G, HNC, or A‑level standard
  • Formal training in project management, networking, or IT systems desirable but not essential
