Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a 12-month contract, based on-site at Drax, Selby. This role involves working on the 400kv National Grid substation, connecting to the Convertor station. It's an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in the T & D sector, who is ready to start immediately and take on both hands-on and mentoring responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring it aligns with NEC Option A contract requirements
  • Conducting cost forecasting and reporting on project financials
  • Managing change both upstream to the National Grid and downstream to the supply chain
  • Coaching and supporting a junior team member, ensuring their development and productivity
  • Communicating effectively with all stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Overseeing CBR's and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Working collaboratively with the project team to achieve project milestones

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in commercial management within the T & D sector
  • Tier 1 experience is essential
  • Proven ability to manage cost forecasting and change management processes
  • Solid understanding of NEC Option A contracts
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members effectively
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to project management
