Our client, is currently seeking a Highway Maintenance Engineer for a temporary contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing highway maintenance schemes to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations
- Overseeing highway construction projects from planning through to completion
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety standards specific to highway works
- Implementing Chapter 8 and highway traffic management requirements effectively
- Coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve issues and optimise project delivery
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior staff
- Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential problems
- Reporting on project status and maintaining accurate documentation
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in managing highway maintenance schemes
- In-depth knowledge of highway construction techniques and materials
- Experience in highway health and safety practices
- Proficiency in understanding Chapter 8 and highway traffic management requirements
- Valid driving licence and access to a car
- Ability to work on-site for three days a week and in the office for two days a week
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High Viz Jacket and Safety Shoes for on-site visits
