Our client is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager for a contract role. This 12-month contract position, starting ASAP, involves leading multiple building decarbonisation projects from feasibility design through to RIBA Stage 4. You will manage the design team, stakeholders, and governance to ensure technical robustness, compliance, deliverability, and alignment with programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain project programmes to Stage 4, design delivery milestones, and critical path dependencies.
  • Ensure alignment of scope across key interventions, including heat decarbonisation, fabric upgrades, electrical upgrades, and controls optimisation.
  • Act as the single point of coordination for the multidisciplinary design team, arranging meetings and managing deliverables.
  • Liaise with site contacts, stakeholders, end-users, and FM teams to manage communication and mitigate operational impacts.
  • Coordinate completion of key surveys and ensure design outputs reflect current compliance requirements.
  • Oversee technical quality of Stage 4 design outputs and ensure designs are buildable, cost-aligned, and energy-efficient.
  • Work with cost consultants to ensure designs are within budget and identify/manage risks, maintaining risk and issue logs.
  • Develop a Scope of Works for each site and lead the assembly of tender packs for mini-competition.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing RIBA Stage 3-4 design processes.
  • Strong background in building services/MEP systems and decarbonisation or retrofit programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across public sector environments.
  • Strong understanding of heat decarbonisation technologies and electrical infrastructure upgrades.
  • Experience working with local authorities or public estate portfolios is desirable.
  • Knowledge of retrofit standards and experience delivering net zero or carbon reduction programmes is an advantage.
