We are looking for Injection Moulding Setters to join an established but growing Injection Moulding Team at our site in Bishopstoke (Eastleigh).
Reporting day-to-day into a technical supervisor, you will be responsible for operating ('setting') the specified Injection Moulding machines as per the needs of the production schedule.
The role will involve the following key aspects: -
Tool and machine setting
- Carry out tool changes and set machine process using best practice and in accordance with health and safety procedures
- Support trials of new tools to achieve optimum performance
Production efficiencies
- Provide hands on process support
- Ensure efficient tool changes
- Minimise machine downtime
- Optimise setting conditions
- Minimise scrap and other material wastage
- Ensure all production recording documents are completed as necessary
Quality control
- Obtain 'first and last off' approval samples
- Maintain quality throughout production run
- Liaise with management and operators to identify and categorise production issues
Machine and tool maintenance
- Responsible for care and low-level maintenance of both machines and tools (to agreed limits)
- Liaise with appropriate support staff to arrange advanced levels of maintenance and repairs
Control of documents
- Create and control master setting sheets
- Control and display of production and quality instructions
Health & Safety procedures
- Ensure all procedures are followed and maintained
- Report any incidents or concerns
What we expect from you
Essential:
- Previous experience within an injection moulding environment
- The ability to read technical drawings and use measuring devices
- Numeracy skills
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear manner
- An ability to work in a pressurised environment and meet deadlines
- Hard-working, 'can do' attitude
- Able to adapt to changes in your working environment
- Understanding of health & safety requirements, and the importance of adhering to HSE standards
Preferred:
- Formal IM qualifications e.g., IMT
Hours:
Rolling 4-weekly shift pattern covering 12 hours work per shift (Days and Nights) Monday to Sunday inclusive
6am - 6pm & 6pm - 6am
Pay:
£15.09 per hour (Basic) + £5.39 per hour (Shift enhancement)
This is initially on a contract/temporary basis but with a strong likelihood of permanent conversion for the right person. Once permanent, the following benefits would apply in addition.
