Our client, a growing engineering consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to deliver and lead design work across UK water projects. This is a contract position based in Manchester, with remote working options available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing technical leadership to the civil design team
- Managing water and wastewater projects, including UMON upgrades, CSOs, and pipelines
- Leading both outline and detailed design phases
- Ensuring compliance with standards and regulations during all project phases
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development
- Maintaining client relationships and ensuring high levels of satisfaction
- Preparing detailed technical reports and presentations
Job Requirements:
- Experience in civil engineering, particularly within the water sector
- Proven background in design and technical leadership
- Strong understanding of working with regulated water companies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
