🚀 HR Governance & Compliance Specialist (Contract)
We are supporting a global organisation in appointing a HR Governance & Compliance Specialist to join their Group HR / People Operations function on an interim basis.
This role sits within a wider HR transformation programme, working closely alongside a Process Design Lead to embed governance, strengthen controls, and ensure HR processes are consistent, compliant, and audit-ready across the organisation.
This is a hands-on delivery role suited to someone with experience in HR operations, governance, compliance, or audit environments who enjoys bringing structure, visibility, and control to people processes.
📍 Location & Details
- Bristol (hybrid working - occasional office attendance required)
- 5-month initial contract
- Inside IR35
- £300-£315 per day

🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and embedding of governance frameworks within the HR / People function
- Ensure HR processes are documented, standardised, and audit-ready
- Track implementation progress, identifying risks and supporting remediation actions
- Assist with compliance monitoring and control activities across HR operations
- Gather, manage, and maintain audit evidence and supporting documentation
- Contribute to the creation of governance reporting and dashboards (KPIs, SLAs, metrics)
- Work closely with transformation and process teams to ensure governance is aligned with newly designed workflows
- Support risk identification and mitigation, ensuring HR activity aligns with internal policies and regulatory expectations
- Help drive consistency, visibility, and control across processes within People Operations
✅ Essential Experience
- Experience working within a HR / People Operations / Shared Services environment
- Exposure to governance, compliance, audit, or risk activities within HR
- Experience supporting or delivering audit readiness or control-based environments
- Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle
- Experience tracking, monitoring, and reporting on process improvements or compliance activity
- Background in HR transformation, process improvement, or operational change programmes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
💡 Desirable
- Experience within a Group / global HR function
- Exposure to regulated environments
- Experience with HR systems (e.g. Workday, SuccessFactors) and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI)
- Familiarity with process mapping, SOP development, or operating model design

- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, delivery-focused contract role
- Able to bridge the gap between HR operations and governance/compliance requirements
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident working with stakeholders across HR, operations, and leadership teams
