Job description

A number of vacancies across a number of shift patterns has now arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician within the Maintenance Department at our Aberdare site. As part of a small team they will ensure effective maintenance programmes are implemented in a dynamic, high volume manufacturing environment. A willingness to work flexibly and commitment to work overtime is required.


The successful candidate will have experience as a maintenance technician in a busy, high volume manufacturing environment. Having served a recognised apprenticeship in a suitable discipline and ideally educated to HNC level. The successful candidate will have experience in both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working on their own when required, using their own initiative with a strong desire to succeed in a sometimes challenging environment.

The candidate must be computer literate and have good knowledge of Microsoft Windows, as is the need to be able to demonstrate a good understanding of PLC ladder programming in GEM80, Allen Bradley or Siemens S7.

Key responsibilities are as follows;

* To maintain, repair and fault find on plant and machinery using various maintenance disciplines.
* Contribute toward machine efficiency and development programmes using existing maintenance programmes and CI methodologies.
* Complete preventative maintenance inspections and identify and implement action plans needed to stop reoccurring faults.
* Completion of Risk assessments and equipment isolation procedures

Shift patterns are either Monday to Friday on a two shift or continuous week 4x4 shift - each shift pattern commands a different shift bonus and we can talk that through along with the competitive base rate the company offers on the phone if you call or email us a CV -
