Job description
Our client is a leading manufacturer in the semi-conductor industry they are looking for a Process Design Engineer for their BOLTON location. There will be some hybrid possibility after the probabtion and training period is passed.
Due to the fact that a number of their clients work in the Defence sector the successful candidate does need to be a British National.
The mission of the role is to take ownership and responsibility of engineered designs within the business.
The job holder has responsibility for supporting all technical requirements and deliverables for contracts, the scope will be to provide direct support for contracts and to provide support to peripheral activities including but not limited to proposals, aftersales support, testing, engineering change, research and development, training, and sales.
Main Responsibilities
- Process design responsibility, mechanical design, instrument, and control design.
- Final design of all aspects of engineered systems and components
- Issue of design information to contracts department to enable execution of orders
- Approval of technical drawings and documents relating to the execution of orders
- Manage Safety Review Process
- Support Proposals Department
- Support aftersales activities relating to spares, replacements, site support work, training, customer meetings (external and internal) warranty claims and fault diagnosis.
- Technical responsibility for factory testing including management of customers representative at witness stage and act on the results. Support Site Acceptance Testing.
- Development and maintenance of Engineering Design Standards
- Support R&D activities and projects
Skills / Experience
- Educated to degree level in a science (physics or chemistry) discipline or commensurate experience
- Experience of providing custom engineering solutions, preferably gained in a process / chemical engineering sector.
- Experience of designing solutions to meet customer specific specifications
- Demonstrated the ability to manage resources successfully.
- Experience working with engineering contractors is desirable.
- Knowledge and working experience of international design standards and codes is preferred. E.g., ASME, HEI, PED
- The ability to Communicate effectively with internal and external customers on a professional level.
- expected for travel national and international requirements (up to 10% of time)
