Job description
Our client NATS (National Air Traffic Services) are looking for a Safety Assurance Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. They currently have Engineers working on the installation engineering for one of their latest airport projects, so they are looking for a Safety Engineer to come in and complete the assurance/documentation tasks.
The job holder will fulfil roles that require their own assurance specialism (e.g. Safety Management (including Airspace Design assurance), System Integrity, Software Assurance) and those that combine the outputs of the activities from other Subject Matter Experts for the construction of the coherent change assurance arguments.
What we are looking for in you:
- The job holder will have a numerate background and is expected to hold, as a minimum, a degree in an engineering or assurance-related discipline and have relevant experience in the planning, design, development and assessment of multi-discipline assurance for safety related systems and services. The job holder is also expected to have specialist knowledge and experience of a single assurance-related discipline. The assurance-related disciplines include:
- safety management (including Airspace design assurance),
- security,
- business continuity,
- human factors
- safety related software development.
- Knowledge/experience with FD134 or CAP670 is desirable
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of regulation and legislation, with experience of the work of regulatory bodies (e.g. EASA and CAA SARG) and other ATM related bodies such as Eurocontrol Safety Regulation Commission (SRC)
- Knowledge of the principal tools, techniques and methods of safety and assurance (e.g. hazard analysis, failure analysis, requirements setting, design assessment, risk assessment, requirements satisfaction, assurance documentation construction).
