Job description
Product/Mechanical Design Engineer
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join a company that design, engineer and manufacture lights and touchscreen devices. They design products from concept to a completed product manufactured onsite.
Responsibilities
- Designing and customising new and existing products, including:
- CAD design (SolidWorks)
- Technical Drawings, Drawing Control
- Design for manufacture (DfM)
- Collaborating with Electronics and Software engineers to create successful products.
- Producing and checking product documentation
- Following and contributing to the development of the best practice guidelines and AS9100
- Supporting production staff with assembly instructions and direct support during manufacture/assembly
Essential Skills and Experience
- Design/Engineering Degree
- Ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Report collating and writing
- Experience of working within a manufacturing company or design for manufacture (CNC, Injection moulding).
- Competent CAD software skills (Solidworks preferred)
- Industry experience from either Hazardous area systems, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical industry or any other standardised industry
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Aerospace experience
- Prototyping (3Dprinting, Workshop Skills)
- Lighting/optics experience
- Experience working within a manufacturing company.
