Job description
Our client, a prominent name in the railway sector, is currently seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing rail infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- Provide technical input to project teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Support the building and maintenance of strong relationships with clients, including railway operators and contractors.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and contribute to innovative rail engineering solutions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, structural engineers, and environmental specialists.
- Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards in rail engineering design and construction.
- Review project deliverables to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in rail engineering, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Contribute ideas for innovative engineering solutions and sustainable rail practices.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent industry experience).
- Candidates working towards or with Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised institution (e.g., ICE) are desirable.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with railway-specific software tools.
- Sound knowledge of civil engineering principles and railway engineering.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced rail environment.
- A commitment to safety, sustainability, and excellence in engineering practices.
