Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Review planning applications to ensure compliance with sustainable drainage requirements
- Design and implement highway drainage improvement schemes and sustainable drainage systems
- Supervise contractors on-site for drainage works
- Develop reactive maintenance programmes for highway drainage infrastructure, including street gullies
- Provide professional advice and data on flood risk and drainage for proposed development sites
- Support the Principal Drainage Engineer in the asset management plan development
- Liaise with internal clients and stakeholders including the Mayor of London, Transport for London, developers, and various council departments
- Manage assigned projects, ensuring budget compliance and timely delivery
Job Requirements:
- Experience in flood risk management and sustainable drainage systems
- Understanding of planned and reactive drainage programmes
- Experience managing drainage infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of highway safety legislation and practices
- Familiarity with relevant management legislation such as the Traffic Management Act
- Proven track record of successful drainage-related project delivery
- Ability to work with community representatives, elected members, and developers
- Possession of a relevant professional qualification or extensive experience in the field
