Job description

Building Control Surveyor

Our client, a reputable company in the HTP sector, is seeking a skilled Building Control Surveyor to join their team. This is a contract position with a rolling 3-6 month duration. Experience working with local authorities is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of building plans to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes
• Provide expert guidance and advice on building control matters to clients and stakeholders
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure compliance with building regulations
• Issue and review building control notices and certificates as required
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support inspection findings and compliance
• Keep up-to-date with changes in building control legislation and industry best practices
• Conduct site visits to oversee construction progress and address any potential issues
• Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving any concerns

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in Building Control, preferably with local authority experience
• Class 2b registered building inspector
• Good knowledge of relevant building regulations and codes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Proficient in using relevant software and technology
