About the Role
As the Parking Strategy Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of key elements of a new Parking Strategy and an updated Parking Policy. You will also provide input to the review of the council's Crossover Policy and lead the development of other relevant strategic projects as necessary. Reporting on the progress of the relevant strategies and managing effective consultation on policies, strategies, and schemes are also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will identify and explore funding opportunities to support the implementation of these strategies and procure suppliers for project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- To project manage the development and delivery of key elements of the Council's new Parking Strategy and an updated Parking Policy, on time and to budget
- To provide input to the review of the council's Crossover Policy
- To lead on the development of other relevant strategic projects as necessary
- To report on the progress of the relevant strategies to the Head of Service, Assistant Director, and relevant internal and external parties
- To ensure consultation on all policies, strategies, and schemes is managed effectively
- To identify and explore funding opportunities to support implementation of those strategies
- To procure suppliers for the delivery of the above projects, as necessary
- To actively contribute to the efficient delivery of the relevant elements of the divisional annual plan
Key Requirements
- Significant experience in parking strategy or transportation management
- Strong understanding of parking policies and regulations
- Knowledge of Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ)
- Excellent project management skills

- Councillors
- Residents and Community Groups
- Senior Managers and staff
- Liaison with Finance and Legal Teams for committee reports, budget monitoring, land ownership, and highway adoption issues
- Liaison with Transport for London for works that directly impact the Transport for London Road Network and/or the Strategic Road Network
- Liaison with Metropolitan Police, London Fire and Rescue Service, and London Ambulance Service
- Liaison with London Buses and bus operators
