Job description
Our local authority client, is seeking a skilled Building Control Surveyor to join their team. This is a contract position with a rolling 3-6 month duration. Experience working with local authorities is highly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of building plans to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes
- Provide expert guidance and advice on building control matters to clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure compliance with building regulations
- Issue and review building control notices and certificates as required
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support inspection findings and compliance
- Keep up-to-date with changes in building control legislation and industry best practices
- Conduct site visits to oversee construction progress and address any potential issues
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving any concerns
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant experience in Building Control, preferably with local authority experience
- Class 2b registered building inspector
- Good knowledge of relevant building regulations and codes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Proficient in using relevant software and technology
