Job description
Our client, a respected organisation operating in the oil and gas sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controls & Instrumentation Engineer for a contract position. This role focuses on the maintenance and improvement of process control and safety systems critical for safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the maintenance and improvement of process control systems and safety systems.
- Review and familiarise with Company Management of Change (MOC) procedural documents to initiate and close out projects.
- Develop and present project plans to the Asset Manager, specifying tasks, resources, and budget requirements.
- Execute approved project tasks, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, legislation, and company policies.
- Update Company drawings and documents to 'As Built Master' status.
- Identify plant improvement areas and develop project work scopes and schedules.
- Design and implement new process control systems and safety systems for capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with international standards for process control and safety systems.
- Produce key deliverables including SIL verification documents and Safety Requirement Specifications.
- Test and commission SIS and Control Systems upgrades.
- Provide technical support for operations, including diagnostics, root cause analysis, and remedial action implementation.
- Manage the maintenance of site-wide process control and safety systems, including communications and remote support.
Job Requirements:
- Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Significant experience in an oil and gas operational environment.
- Exceptional understanding of the engineering involved in oil production and gas storage operations.
- Proven experience with Safety Instrumented Systems and electrical equipment maintenance in explosive atmospheres.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills to deliver high-quality engineering works.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across teams and communicate effectively with all levels of management and third parties.
- Proficiency in engineering drawing software, such as AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
- Commitment to working safely and sustainably, with an eye for continuous improvement.
