Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Stoke Gifford Depot, Bristol
Contract: Permanent | Full-time (Mon-Fri)

If you're a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer - (Product Support Engineer - Rail) who enjoys fault‑finding and keeping critical systems running, this is a strong platform to grow your career.

You'll join a high‑performing depot team maintaining rail power products in a modern, digitally enabled environment, with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carry out preventative, scheduled and reactive maintenance
  • Diagnose faults using drawings, data and diagnostic tools
  • Perform repairs and overhauls to a high standard
  • Complete accurate documentation and reports
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Maintain HSQE standards and safe working practices
  • Use IT systems for maintenance tracking and reporting
  • Support stock control and parts tracking
  • Work with wider teams and support other depots when required

What You'll Need to Succeed

Essential:

  • Mechanical engineering background (electrical knowledge beneficial)
  • NVQ Level 2 in Engineering (Level 3 preferred)
  • Experience in maintenance, repair or overhaul environments
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding ability
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, email)

Desirable:

  • Experience with diesel engines, automotive or aircraft systems
