We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in a major Manufacturing Execution System (MES) transformation programme. This is a high‑impact, delivery‑focused role at the heart of a complex, regulated manufacturing environment, working across IT, engineering, operations, and external delivery partners.

If you enjoy turning business vision into robust, real‑world technology solutions and want to leave a lasting architectural footprint within a critical manufacturing programme this opportunity offers real substance and visibility.

The opportunity:

As part of a wider digital transformation, you'll lead solution design for the replacement and integration of a core MES platform. Working closely with a Lead Architect, programme teams, and specialist consultancies, you'll ensure solutions are coherent, secure, compliant, and built for long term value.

You'll operate as a trusted architectural authority, bridging strategic intent and hands‑on delivery across applications, data, security, and integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design end‑to‑end solution architecture for a major MES replacement and integration programme.
  • Translate business and manufacturing requirements into clear, compliant technical designs.
  • Act as the architectural lead for programme teams and third‑party delivery partners.
  • Define secure, auditable data and integration patterns across MES, ERP, automation, and OT systems.
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory, security, and validation requirements.
  • Support architecture governance, standards, and risk management.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect on large‑scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong background in MES, manufacturing systems, or operational/OT environments.
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Solid understanding of application, data, integration, and security architecture.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
  • Confident communicator, able to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with systems integrators or consultancy partners.

Important: Due to security clearance requirements, applicants must hold sole British nationality.

Working arrangements: Flexible and hybrid working.

Important: Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity.

Even If you feel like you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to reach out and apply.
