Our client, a global leader in motion and control technologies, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a materials focus to support their aerospace business. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, developing and supporting high‑reliability products for demanding flight environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide materials engineering support for aerospace components and assemblies
  • Select metallic materials based on performance, manufacturability, cost, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and optimise metal joining solutions (e.g. welding, brazing, soldering, mechanical fastening)
  • Support root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective actions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and test plans
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure robust, producible designs

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials/Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in engineering, ideally in aerospace or other highly regulated industry
  • Broad knowledge of metal joining techniques, metallurgy, and material selection for structural and high‑temperature applications
  • Ability as an excellent, methodical problem solver, using data-driven approaches and structured root cause tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams
  • Knowledge of the selection and performance of materials for use in extreme high and low temperatures (advantageous)
