We are now looking for an MRO Operative to join our Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) department. This is a hands‑on role supporting mission‑critical aerospace products, including floatation devices and fuel cell systems.

Role Overview

As an MRO Operative, you will maintain a varied skillset across multiple aerospace product disciplines. The role focuses on carrying out maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities in response to customer demand, working strictly to technical instructions and quality standards.

You will report directly to the MRO / CSD Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cutting and marking materials using templates
  • Reading, understanding, and following technical drawings
  • Using adhesives, solvents, and chemicals safely
  • Operating welding equipment, large machinery, and presses
  • Working in confined spaces and at heights
  • Using milling and mixing machines
  • Examining materials to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Completing route cards with 100% compliance
  • Using lifting forks
  • Working with small handheld tools
  • Painting tanks and components

Mandatory Requirements

  • Comfortable working in confined spaces
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Full adherence to PPE requirements (safety shoes, overalls, safety glasses)
  • Ability to work with strong‑smelling chemicals
  • Strict adherence to health & safety rules (no shortcuts or quick fixes)
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
  • Positive "can‑do" attitude

Qualifications & Experience

  • Familiarity with build processes across floatation and fuel cell production (desirable but not essential)

Location

Portsmouth - Airport Service Road area (PO3)

Working Hours

  • Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15
  • Friday: 07:30 - 16:00
  • Every other Friday off (9‑day fortnight)
