Our client is looking for a seasoned Project Director with over 15 years of relatable experience to take full accountability for a flagship infrastructure project in Kettering. This is a high-level strategic role designed for a leader who can navigate the complexities of multi-million-pound HV network upgrades, energy centre modernisation, and intricate mechanical-electrical interfaces.

The successful candidate will provide executive-level oversight, ensuring the project aligns with broader commercial objectives while maintaining rigorous technical standards and high-level stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct the delivery of external HV infrastructure upgrades (up to 11kV), ensuring the project integrates seamlessly with the wider regional network.

  • Executive Oversight: Manage the full scope of energy centre upgrades and internal diesel generator installations, providing the final technical and commercial sign-off for critical power phases.

  • Integrated Solutions: Coordinate the strategic alignment between electrical infrastructure and the installation of new boilers for heating mains, ensuring a unified MEP delivery.

  • Commercial Accountability: Full responsibility for the project's financial performance, including P&L management, risk mitigation strategies, and high-value procurement.

  • High-Level Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary interface for the client's executive board, local authorities, and senior DNO officials.

  • Operational Excellence: Foster a culture of safety and quality, ensuring all works exceed industry standards and regulatory compliance for high-voltage and critical power systems.

  • Mentorship: Lead and develop the internal project management team, driving professional standards across the site.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 15+ years of demonstrable experience in senior leadership roles within the MEP or heavy infrastructure sectors.

  • HV & Critical Power Expertise: Extensive background in delivering HV systems (up to 11kV) and large-scale backup power solutions.

  • Complex Project Delivery: Proven ability to manage multifaceted projects involving both high-end electrical distribution and industrial mechanical systems (boilers/heating mains).

  • Qualifications:

    • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or a relevant Degree in Engineering is highly desirable.

    • Significant experience in contract law (NEC/JCT) and senior-level commercial management.

    • SMSTS and Black CSCS Card.

  • Leadership Traits: A strategic thinker with a track record of delivering high-stakes projects on time and within budget through effective team leadership.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum (dependant on experience).

  • Car Allowance: £5,000 per annum.

  • Influence: The opportunity to lead a high-profile project for a major international MEP contractor.

  • Career Trajectory: A senior position within a firm that values long-term stability and professional excellence.
