Sector: Nuclear New Build / Major Infrastructure

Location: Bridgwater / HPC Site Based

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Material Handling Supervisor to join the logistics and supply chain team at Hinkley Point C. This is a high-responsibility, site-based position focused on managing the flow of critical components and materials required for one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects.

You will lead a team dedicated to the receipt, secure storage, and strategic release of materials to various construction and commissioning phases, ensuring that project timelines are met without compromising on nuclear safety or quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HPC Site Supervision: Direct oversight of material handling and laydown area activities, ensuring all logistics operations align with the broader HPC project schedule.

  • MTA Systems Management: Lead the implementation and daily updates of the MTA software platform. You will be responsible for recording all material movements and ensuring subcontractors are fully trained in MTA protocols.

  • Inventory Control: Supervise the end-to-end material lifecycle-from site arrival and inspection to formal handover for erection or commissioning.

  • Documentation & Quality: Verify all delivery paperwork, including Quality Release Certificates (QRC) and Packing Lists. You will proactively resolve documentation gaps with suppliers to prevent project delays.

  • Safety & EHS: Enforce strict compliance with site EHS policies, specifically regarding complex lifting operations and vehicle movements within high-traffic laydown areas.

  • Logistics Coordination: Act as the primary interface between the Material Handling Manager, Construction Managers, and external transport partners to coordinate daily shipments.

  • Reporting: Maintain detailed daily logs of material events and provide stock status updates to ensure traceability and support any potential claims or disputes.

Requirements:

  • Industry Background: Significant experience in material handling or site logistics within a Nuclear (HPC experience highly preferred), Power Plant, or major industrial construction environment.

  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MTA or equivalent large-scale material tracking applications.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to supervise diverse teams and subcontractors under rigorous regulatory conditions.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of different material types, storage requirements for ITNS-I materials, and lifting equipment certification.

  • Standards: A commitment to a "Quality First" and "Nuclear Safety" culture.

What's on Offer:

  • The chance to play a key role in a landmark UK energy project.

  • A professional, fast-paced environment with a focus on high-spec engineering logistics.

  • Long-term contract or permanent opportunities within a global project network.
