Job Title: Mechanical Erection Supervisor - Hinkley Point C (HPC)

Sector: Nuclear New Build / Large-Scale Power Generation

Location: Bridgwater / HPC Site Based

The Opportunity: We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Erection Supervisor to join a major engineering partner at Hinkley Point C. This is a frontline leadership role responsible for driving the mechanical installation strategy on one of the world's most complex nuclear construction projects.

You will lead subcontractor teams to ensure that mechanical systems are installed, tested, and handed over to commissioning with zero compromises on quality or safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subcontractor Management: Lead and coordinate mechanical teams to ensure works are executed in line with technical specifications. You will be the point of contact for clarifying complex erection documentation and resolving technical issues on the ground.

  • Erection Strategy Execution: Implement the site mechanical strategy, ensuring all milestones are met. This includes managing non-conformances (NCRs), tracking cost variances, and closing out Field Site Instructions (FSIs).

  • Quality & Conformity Testing: Oversee mandatory inspections and tests (ITPL/LAD). You will play a key role in walkdowns (CTO/TOP) and ensure all materials and consumables meet project standards.

  • Punch List Clearance: Proactively record outstanding works during inspections and manage the rapid resolution and sign-off of all punch list items.

  • Documentation & As-Builts: Oversee the preparation and verification of Site Work Completion Files (SWCF). You will ensure as-built documentation is accurate, compiled, and signed off to support seamless handover.

  • EHS Leadership: Enforce a "Zero Harm" safety culture. This includes conducting daily toolbox talks and managing high-risk activities such as work at height, heavy lifting, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.

  • Excellence Initiatives: Support "Dedication to Excellence" and quality-driven programs to ensure a "Right First Time" approach across all mechanical packages.

What We're Looking For:

  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of large-scale power plant systems and mechanical erection disciplines.

  • Site Experience: A proven track record in site construction execution and managing large subcontractor workforces within a high-compliance environment.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify required tools/materials and validate requests to ensure the site schedule remains on track.

  • Education: A Diploma or Certificate in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.

  • Communication: Fluent English is essential for explaining technical blueprints and providing detailed progress/EHS reporting.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) construction or complex thermal power projects.

  • Experience working within multicultural, international engineering teams.
