Job Title: Electrical & I&C Construction Supervisor - Hinkley Point C (HPC)
Sector: Nuclear New Build / Power Generation
Location: Bridgwater / HPC Site Based
The Opportunity: We are seeking an Electrical Construction Supervisor to lead the effective execution of Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) installation at Hinkley Point C. This is a high-authority role focused on managing the transition from physical erection to commissioning, ensuring one of the project's most complex technical scopes is delivered to nuclear-grade standards.
The Role: Reporting to the Electrical Construction Manager, you will oversee a multi-disciplinary subcontractor workforce. You are responsible for the "Big Picture" delivery - ensuring that all electrical packages are completed on time, within budget, and ready for handover to the commissioning teams without non-conformances.
Key Responsibilities:
Erection & Turnover Management: Lead the day-to-day electrical and I&C installation. Ensure all defined turnover packages (TOPs) are accurate and ready for commissioning in line with the project master schedule.
Planning & Resource Optimisation: Develop detailed sub-schedules to ensure workforce, materials, and specialized tooling are aligned with construction targets.
Quality & Engineering Liaison: Act as the technical bridge to the Engineering department. You will ensure the highest quality of workmanship, adhering strictly to the Site Quality Assurance Programme and resolving complex technical queries (TQs).
Commercial & Risk Management: Investigate and mitigate all variances, non-conformances (NCRs), and extra works. You will work closely with Site Contracts Managers to minimize cost impacts and manage subcontractor claims.
Progress Tracking: Maintain meticulous records of erection progress and quality data. Support and provide critical input to the Construction Monitoring System (CMS).
Safety & EHS Leadership: Implement site-specific EHS plans, conducting safety walks, risk analyses, and toolbox talks. You have the authority to suspend any works proceeding in a non-compliant or dangerous manner.
Handover & Punch-listing: Proactively clear punch-list items and manage as-built documentation to ensure a seamless transition to the client's commissioning team.
What We're Looking For:
Educational Background: Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's) or equivalent high-level technical certification.
Experience: You must have completed at least two full cycles of power plant construction projects, with a deep understanding of power plant systems and electrical disciplines.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage large subcontractor teams and internal personnel, including performance assessments and resource allocation.
Commercial Acumen: Strong cost awareness and a "goals-oriented" approach to solving site deviations and contractual variances.
Mindset: An open-minded, loyal leader who can balance attention to detail with the overarching project goals.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in English (oral and written).
Familiarity with multicultural site environments and international construction standards.
Advanced knowledge of site-based EHS procedures, including LOTO and mechanical/electrical safety.
