The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to join the site maintenance team. This role is heavily weighted toward instrumentation (approximately 85% of the scope), making it perfect for an instrument-biased technician who enjoys complex fault-finding, loop checks, and maintaining high-integrity safety systems on a live process plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibration & Maintenance: Carry out routine calibration, maintenance, and testing of site instrumentation, including flow, pressure, temperature, and level transmitters.
Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and repair complex control loops, fiscal metering systems, and automated valves to maximise plant availability.
Electrical Support: Assist with low-voltage electrical maintenance, emergency systems, and minor installations as required (roughly 15% of the role).
Safety & Compliance: Maintain and test critical safety systems to ensure compliance with stringent top-tier industrial regulations and hazardous area (ATEX/DSEAR) standards.
Emergency Response: Participate in an on-call rota to provide rapid breakdown support, maintaining asset integrity and operational continuity.
What We're Looking For:
Technical Bias: Strong instrumentation background, ideally supported by an NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent apprenticeship in Control & Instrumentation.
Industry Experience: Proven track record working on live process assets-ideally Onshore Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemicals, Power Generation, or heavy processing utilities.
Hazardous Areas: Experience working in hazardous areas (CompEx certification is highly desirable).
Logistics: Due to the call-out requirements, you must live within a 1-hour travelling distance of the facility and hold a full UK driving licence.

Salary: Highly competitive base salary (dependent upon experience).
Premium Call-Out Structure: Highly lucrative standby and call-out terms:
Weekdays: Paid at 5 hours base rate standby, plus a minimum of 5 hours at 1.5x base rate per call-out.
Weekends & Bank Holidays: Minimum of 5 hours at 2.0x base rate per call-out.
Bonus: Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) with a potential of up to 15% of salary based on targets.
Pension: Premium 10% employer company contribution.
