Pre-Clinical Laboratory Scientist (In Vitro Biology / Toxicology)
Location: Onsite (5 days/week)
Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm
Contract: Maternity cover (until end of September)
Pay: £22.77 per hour (PAYE)
Role Overview
Support the delivery of pre-clinical studies, focusing on in vitro biology and toxicology, to assess product safety and support regulatory submissions. The role contributes to generating high-quality scientific data to underpin product development and safety claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in vitro laboratory studies and generate data for reports and submissions
- Maintain laboratory operations, equipment, and processes
- Apply cell biology and toxicology techniques to assess product safety
- Support study design, data analysis, and interpretation, including high-content screening
- Ensure compliance with GLP, health & safety, and best practices
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and support scientific presentations
- Contribute to development of new pre-clinical capabilities and methods
- Assist with regulatory documentation, publications, and scientific reports
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Professional laboratory experience in a biological or biotech setting
- Experience conducting in vitro studies
- Knowledge of cell biology, toxicology, or pharmacology
- Strong data analysis and scientific communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Degree in Biological Sciences or related field
Desirable
- Experience developing cellular assays
- Analytical chemistry background
- Exposure to disease modelling or advanced toxicology
