Pre-Clinical Laboratory Scientist (In Vitro Biology / Toxicology)

Location: Onsite (5 days/week)
Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm
Contract: Maternity cover (until end of September)
Pay: £22.77 per hour (PAYE)


Role Overview

Support the delivery of pre-clinical studies, focusing on in vitro biology and toxicology, to assess product safety and support regulatory submissions. The role contributes to generating high-quality scientific data to underpin product development and safety claims.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in vitro laboratory studies and generate data for reports and submissions
  • Maintain laboratory operations, equipment, and processes
  • Apply cell biology and toxicology techniques to assess product safety
  • Support study design, data analysis, and interpretation, including high-content screening
  • Ensure compliance with GLP, health & safety, and best practices
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and support scientific presentations
  • Contribute to development of new pre-clinical capabilities and methods
  • Assist with regulatory documentation, publications, and scientific reports

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Professional laboratory experience in a biological or biotech setting
  • Experience conducting in vitro studies
  • Knowledge of cell biology, toxicology, or pharmacology
  • Strong data analysis and scientific communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Degree in Biological Sciences or related field

Desirable

  • Experience developing cellular assays
  • Analytical chemistry background
  • Exposure to disease modelling or advanced toxicology
