Our client, a prominent organisation in the retail industry, is seeking a PMO Manager on a contractual basis to provide leadership and direction across the BEP PMO. This role requires a blend of strong project management experience with a deep understanding of programme management, especially in large-scale, complex transformation environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support across the BEP PMO function, establishing high standards for planning, reporting, governance, and risk management.
  • Shape and maintain the integrated programme framework, ensuring effective alignment across workstreams and leadership groups.
  • Lead and support key governance forums, ensuring clarity, accountability, and action.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and timely reporting for programme, CTMO, and executive-level forums.
  • Provide leadership on RAID management, ensuring risks and dependencies are identified, understood, and governed effectively.
  • Support tracking of programme budgets, forecasts, and resource demand, with visibility of capacity and constraints.
  • Work closely with programme and workstream leads to support good PMO discipline and engage senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Maintain PMO standards, frameworks, and tooling strategy for the programme, ensuring they are fit for purpose and consistently applied.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience of supporting PMO functions within large, complex transformation programmes.
  • Ability to guide and influence senior leadership teams and oversee multi-workstream programmes with high dependency and delivery pressure.
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to build and inspire cross-functional PMO teams.
  • Experience in planning, governance, and risk management at programme leadership level.
  • Strong experience in planning, reporting, RAID, and dependency management.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see across the programme, anticipate challenges, and provide innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver concise, impactful narrative for executive audiences.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks in a fast-moving environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of PMO and PPM tools (e.g., MS Project, ServiceNow PPM, Planview, Jira).
  • Excellent reporting capability with tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Good understanding of blended delivery environments (Agile/Waterfall).
  • Relevant PMO, project, or programme management qualifications (Prince2, PMP, Scaled Agile, MSP) are desirable.
