Our client, operating in the technology and IT sectors, is currently seeking a Data Business Analyst on a contract basis. This role involves providing data business analysis across a variety of projects for the Finance Evolution Programme's Data Workstream.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather detailed data requirements regarding data structures, data flows, reporting and analytics requirements.
- Perform both as-is and to-be analysis and modelling.
- Collaborate with Finance and other business leaders, SMEs, and stakeholders on assigned projects.
- Prepare and facilitate workshops for "as is" and "to be" analysis.
- Compile, document, and validate all business models and requirements for all assigned projects.
- Work with FE Data Workstream Leader, data architects/modellers, data engineers, analysts, visualisation analysts and testers to deliver each project within scope and on time.
- Consult with Data Enablement, Data Engineering, Data Architecture and wider Technology teams to inform "to be" solutions as required.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in data requirement gathering and data flow modelling.
- Strong skills in data analysis and business analysis.
- Experience in working with financial data and reporting systems.
- Ability to prepare and facilitate workshops involving various stakeholders.
- Experience in documenting business models and requirements.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and other collaborative repositories.
Deliverables:
- Creation of as-is and to-be enterprise-wide data flow models for data in scope for FE programme.
- High level as-is and to-be analysis of all uses of Finance data in reporting and analytics.
- Data definitions and conceptual data models agreed with appropriate business and Architecture stakeholders.
- Data analyses to enable logical and physical data models, data mapping, and other design artefacts.
- Documentation to support updates to data marts, Power BI, and Workday Core Reporting and Analytics.
- Creation and updating of user stories and other artefacts for implementation sprints in JIRA and Confluence on a just-in-time basis.
