The Opportunity:

We are partnering with a premier Tier 1 technical services and project controls consultancy to recruit a senior Project Controls Manager. Operating within an expanding mega-project infrastructure division, this role is central to driving high-quality, integrated baseline management across a flagship multi-billion-pound energy development.

This position serves as a critical strategic link between the central Project Management Office (PMO), engineering delivery programmes, and the international supply chain. You will lead and coordinate a team across cost, scheduling, risk, change management, and performance reporting to ensure all project management data drives forward-looking executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrated Controls Management: Direct and manage all Project Controls functions for an assigned multi-million-pound work scope, ensuring strict alignment with the project's master Controls Execution Plan.

  • Data Integration & Function Coordination: Harmonise the distinct functions of cost engineering, scheduling, risk management, and change control to produce unified, high-integrity management information.

  • Supply Chain Assurance: Liaise extensively with tier 1 supply chain partners to review, interrogate, and assure the quality and validity of contractor-submitted project controls data.

  • Performance Reporting: Author and deliver high-quality, audit-ready month-end performance reports, steering subsequent project performance review meetings with delivery leads.

  • Variance & Forecast Analysis: Oversee schedule health, cost variance analysis, accurate Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting, and the identification of proactive programme recovery loops.

  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Present clear, data-driven insights and concise narratives to senior leadership. Engage with executive stakeholders and represent the project controls function externally as an exemplar of industry best practices.

  • Digital Innovation: Contribute to the development of cutting-edge project controls techniques, supporting "Digital by Default" analytical ways of working.

What We're Looking For:

  • Infrastructure Pedigree: Robust, proven experience delivering integrated project controls frameworks on large-scale, complex infrastructure or heavy industrial capital programmes.

  • Multi-Discipline Competence: Deep technical competence across multiple core controls functions, specifically cost control, estimating, critical path scheduling, change management, and quantitative risk analysis.

  • Earned Value Expertise: Solid, practical understanding of Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and performance measurement baselines.

  • Leadership in Matrix Environments: Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring controls teams within a complex matrix structure, backed by strong influencing and communication skills.

  • Education: Degree or equivalent higher qualification in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.

  • Office Presence: Able to work from the London office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Professional membership or formal certification with recognised bodies such as APM, PMI, or AACE.

  • Advanced hands-on experience utilising modern reporting and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).

  • Strong contractual awareness regarding the mechanisms of NEC or FIDIC contract suites.

  • Previous experience operating within the Nuclear Energy sector or similarly strict high-compliance environments.

What's on Offer (Package & Benefits):

  • Salary: High-tier base salary matching senior project controls leadership appointments.

  • Work-Life Balance: Comprehensive commitment to modern flexibility, including an established hybrid working framework.

  • Healthcare: Premium private single medical cover alongside a digital GP service.

  • Family Benefits: Enhanced parental leave pay structures and full access to employee assistance and parental wellness programmes.

  • Professional Development: Financial reimbursement and corporate backing for relevant professional institutional memberships and continuous professional development (CPD).

  • Corporate Culture: A highly collaborative workspace backed by extensive employee networks, matched-funding, and paid volunteering schemes.
