Our client, a prominent consultancy in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across highway projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting annual on-site health and safety reviews of the highways contractor and preparing detailed reports with recommended improvements
- Providing ongoing health and safety advice, including emergency support when required
- Updating the organisation on new legislation and advising on necessary actions to remain compliant
- Reviewing and updating the health and safety policy annually to ensure it remains accurate and compliant with current regulations
- Offering additional expertise as needed, such as conducting investigations and deeper reviews
Job Requirements:
- Experience in health and safety within the highways sector
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to conduct thorough audits and produce actionable reports
- Excellent advisory skills, with the capability to provide both routine and emergency support
- Skilled in reviewing and updating health and safety policies
- Ability to undertake additional tasks such as investigations and detailed reviews
- Superb communication skills and attention to detail
- Relevant health and safety qualifications or certifications
