Our client, operating within the highways sector, is currently seeking an NEC Supervisor for a contract role. This opportunity is based on overseeing and managing NEC4 Engineering and Construction Short Contracts (ECSC) to ensure compliance with project specifications and safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking the responsibilities of NEC4 Supervisor or the Client's representative for NEC4 ECSCs.
- Supervising works on the ground, ensuring the works comply with the contract drawings and specifications.
- Ensuring the works comply with health and safety regulations and CDM regulations.
- Issuing verbal and written instructions to the contractor and making immediate decisions.
- Assisting in identifying and managing risks on-site to ensure the safe passage of the public and workforce, particularly in crowded urban areas.
- Producing detailed progress records in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Communicating with the public, business representatives, and other stakeholders to enhance project understanding and address concerns or suggestions.
- Assisting in providing basic design alterations to handle unforeseen conditions arising on-site.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in supervising highways projects, particularly under NEC4 contracts.
- Familiarity with NEC4 ECSCs and the responsibilities of a Supervisor.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including CDM regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging with contractors, design staff, client staff, and quantity surveyors.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to produce precise progress records and reports.
- Problem-solving skills to manage on-site risks and provide design alterations as necessary.
