Matchtech are supporting a key client with the requisiton of a Staff Transmission Engineer - Overhead Transmission to join their teams in Houston or Austin. This is a permanent opportunity to become an integral part of their Transmission and Distribution Group, with a chance to make a significant impact on projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing technical leadership for overhead transmission design teams
- Mentoring, coaching, and developing team members
- Independently executing design work with engineering judgment
- Performing quality reviews
- Identifying and communicating changes to the project scope to the engineering lead and project manager
- Providing input and adhering to project schedules
- Identifying and communicating technical risks associated with projects
- Creating, improving, facilitating, and teaching training courses to the project team and department
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
- Experience in transmission engineering
- Consulting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge in standard civil/structural engineering techniques and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD
- Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organisation, and problem-solving skills
