Our client, operating within the technology sector, is currently seeking a Platform & Agentic AI Architect Lead for a contract role based in London. This high-responsibility position involves leading an engineering pod to migrate AWS serverless applications to Azure, focusing on building frameworks, guardrails, and workflows that enable AI coding agents to deliver scalable and compliant solutions.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining architecture and platform engineering responsibilities with team mentoring and delivery leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the claude_code_forge scaffolding, including repository structures, CLAUDE.md specifications, agent creation, MCP configurations, and custom commands.
- Define migration work packages and acceptance criteria for AWS-to-Azure transformation.
- Build CI/CD guardrails, architectural controls, and automated quality checks.
- Enforce architecture through testing, linting, and dependency management.
- Drive AI-assisted engineering practices, including prompt-driven TDD and multi-agent orchestration.
- Mentor engineers on Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Cowork workflows.
- Report on migration progress, agent utilisation, risks, and delivery metrics.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in software engineering with significant experience leading teams or technical delivery.
- Strong expertise in AWS and Azure serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, Step Functions, and Durable Functions.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and AI coding agents.
- Background in platform engineering, developer tooling, and CI/CD automation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with Agentic AI platforms and AI governance.
- Cloud migration leadership experience.
- AWS and/or Azure certifications.
