Project Manager - Data Centre Project (Milan, Italy)

We are seeking a driven and professional Project Manager to join our team in Milan, Italy. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will take total ownership of project delivery, ensuring that our high standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence are maintained from inception to final handover.
Key Responsibilities
You will have end-to-end responsibility for the successful delivery of complex projects, including:
Project Lifecycle Management: Take projects from the estimating team via a formal handover, ensuring a detailed understanding of the Scope of Works and specifications.
Commercial & Procurement: Manage project finances, including "better buying" of packages, procurement of subcontractors and materials, and management of variation accounts.
Planning & Programming: Issue construction and commissioning programmes, manage progress against milestones, and utilise project management software (Microsoft Project/Asta) to track delivery.
Documentation & Reporting: Manage all project documentation to company standards. Provide timely weekly/monthly status reports and project updates to the Directors and the client.
Quality Assurance: Lead quality control processes, including installation checks, testing, and the management of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and record drawings.
Commissioning & Handover: Lead the commissioning process, ensuring a snag-free handover that meets all client and consultant expectations.
Team Leadership & Coaching: Manage and mentor site staff, including Site Managers, apprentices, and Trainee Project Managers. Provide technical guidance and promote high-performance work practices.
Safety Leadership: Hold ultimate responsibility for full Health & Safety compliance on-site. Promote a culture of proactive reporting and ensure all site protocols are strictly followed.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary professional representative for Gloster Global, managing client expectations and fostering strong working relationships.
Candidate Requirements
Technical Background: A trade background (Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing) combined with an HNC or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
Experience: A proven track record in successfully delivering mechanical and electrical projects, preferably within the data centre sector.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management software such as Microsoft Project or Asta.
Certifications: SMSTS or IOSH certification and a current Supervisor/Manager CSCS card.
Attributes: Exceptional organisational and communication skills. You must be commercially aware, results-oriented, and capable of managing teams under tight deadlines.
