Our client, a leading company in the IT industry, is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer for a contract role. This position involves the development and maintenance of dynamic Power BI dashboards and reports that address various business requirements. The role demands a highly experienced individual who can translate functional needs into scalable reporting solutions within a supply chain context.
Key Responsibilities:
Power BI Development & Delivery
- Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into scalable and user-friendly reporting solutions.
- Ensure consistency and standardisation of KPIs, definitions, and visualisations across reports.
Report Maintenance & Support
- Maintain and enhance existing Power BI reports to improve performance, usability, and relevance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data, performance, and visualisation issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure reports remain aligned with changing business requirements and data models.
Data Modelling & Integration
- Build and optimise data models, including relationships, measures (DAX), and transformations.
- Work with multiple data sources (e.g., SAP, WMS, TMS, data platforms) to ensure accurate and reliable datasets.
- Support data validation and ensure alignment with data governance standards and SSOT principles.
Business Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate within Supply Chain, and with other functions to understand PBI reports needs and translate them into solutions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve PBI reports and bring additional insights to the business.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure adoption and correct usage of dashboards.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote best practices in Power BI development (performance tuning, UX design, governance).
- Contribute to standardisation and documentation of reporting frameworks.
- Support knowledge sharing within the team and contribute to building Power BI capability across the organisation.
Job Requirements:
Experience Required
- Experience in Power BI development or BI/reporting roles.
- Experience working with supply chain data and processes (e.g., planning, logistics, inventory, service levels).
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end BI solutions (from requirements to development to deployment).
- Experience supporting and maintaining live reporting environments.
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Strong hands-on Power BI expertise (Power Query, DAX, data modelling, visualisation).
- Experience with SQL and working with structured data sources.
- Understanding of supply chain KPIs and business metrics.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Beneficial
- Experience with SAP, WMS, TMS, or similar systems.
- Exposure to data platforms (e.g., Azure, data lakes, SSOT initiatives).
- Knowledge of Power BI governance, deployment pipelines, or enterprise BI environments.
