Our client, a specialist in the water sector, is seeking a Programme Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves overseeing the delivery of a programme of capital infrastructure projects, including mains renewal and asset upgrades. The Programme Manager will work to ensure these projects meet industry standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a programme of capital infrastructure projects to the required quality and standards.
- Develop and manage a team to enhance its performance and professional capability.
- Challenge proposals to ensure solutions maximise value and meet business outcomes.
- Align governance, reporting, and controls with the PMO team for consistent and effective delivery.
- Provide project managers with the necessary tools and information for successful project delivery.
- Regularly update senior management and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and performance metrics.
- Ensure project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts are managed and tracked efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to clearly define and meet project objectives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with infrastructure projects.
- Oversee procurement processes and manage contracts with third-party vendors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Apply construction design management regulations where necessary.
- Ensure all work is processed and stored according to GDPR guidelines.
- Remain abreast of new legislation and regulatory requirements to ensure best practices.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and wellbeing policies and procedures.
