The company are looking for a Senior / Principal Software Engineer to join the team in supporting software development and verification. The Senior / Principal Software Engineer will improve the effectiveness of the software design function within the company and lead safety critical software development and verification. This role entails providing technical expertise and guidance to projects and lesser-experienced software engineers.
Experience needed:
- Extensive experience of software design, development and testing.
- Experience in Embedded Software.
- Extensive experience with all parts of the software lifecycle
- Technically competent to identify risk and able clearly to present the detail
- Able to suggest and apply practical and economic solutions to any problems encountered
- Able to communicate succinctly and accurately on most technical issues and schemes with internal and external customers and the team
- Good application of Microsoft packages and relevant software for the role
- Ability to lead and manage small size team and work packages

- Prepare presentations and reports as required for internal and external use
- Help to build and maintain excellent internal and external customer relationships
- To use initiative in progressing of the software development and verification tasks and in meeting milestones.
- To be able to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of engineers to meet the project objectives
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working in a safety-critical environment
- Real time software development in C.
- Proficient with configuration control
- Proficient with design and analysis and test techniques for safety-critical real-time software.
- Extensive experience with software development and verification lifecycle
- Proficient in Technical Management of Safety Critical Development (to DO 178).
- Conversant with safety and certification requirements for aerospace software
